Stoichiometric oxygen

Surface path at low overpotential. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of impedance data, tracer studies, as well as various studies of thin-film electrodes suggest that under low-overpotential LSM operates primarily via a surface-mediated mechanism (like Pt). This conclusion appears to be consistent with the properties of LSM, which is fully oxygen stoichiometric under ambient Pq. However, little is known about how far the active region of reduction extends beyond the solid/solid interface (via surface diffusion) or the relative importance of chemical steps (on the LSM surface) vs electrochemical kinetics at the solid/solid interface. [Pg.586]

Recently, liquid water was decomposed to hydrogen and oxygen stoichiometrically and continuously by irradiations of ultrasound and light with particulate photocatalyst.n) This reaction system is thought to be a joint one for sonolysis and photocatalysis. Furthermore, this system also is a hybrid of mechanical effects and chemical effects. In this chapter, the effect of ultrasound on photocatalytic reaction is considered. The joint system of sonochemical and photocatalytic reactions, in particular s explained. [Pg.108]

The magnetization data for these polycrystalline samples prompted a closer look with an oxygen-stoichiometric series of single-crystal samples in the range 0.15 < x < 0.50 (Zhou et al., 2001a). The zero-field-cooled (ZFC) and field-cooled (FC) magnetization M(T) under applied fields of 10 Oe, 50 Oe, and 5 kOe as well as the reciprocal magnetization M l(T)... [Pg.269]

The disagreement in magnesium to oxygen stoichiometric ratio in the final product is very likely due to the slow reaction of MgO rod surface under ambient conditions with CO2 and H2O yielding magnesium hydroxide and magnesium carbonate ... [Pg.375]

It should be noted that all these descriptions concern the oxygen-deficient spinel and cannot be adopted to the oxygen stoichiometric spinel. That is, it is not overdone how strongly it is emphasized that the oxygen stoichiometric spinel does not have these three features. As mentioned above, it should be understood for the spinel compounds that the data of spinels, in which oxygen content is measured by the chemical analysis, would be reliable. [Pg.24]

Figure 2.9 shows the cyclicity of the magnesium doping spinel cathode for metallic lithium anode at 60°C. It is understood that the cyclicity of the oxygen stoichiometric spinels is excellent. [Pg.25]

We can divide the oxygen-deficient spinel for its capacity. The Mn + content would control the capacity of one type of oxygen-deficient spinel the capacity is expressed same equation as the oxygen stoichiometric spinel previously mentioned. If the lithium content in the spinel restricts the capacity, although experimental verification has not been carried out, the capacity of such a spinel would be calculated to be 296n. [Pg.28]
