A similar palladium-catalysed approach was used to obtain fused benzophos-phacyclanes 87 (Scheme 53) [119]. Novel synthesis ofP-chiral 1,3-oxaphospholane 309 starting from optically pure propylene oxide was described. The structure was defined by X-ray crystallographic analysis (Scheme 104) [203].

Oxaphospholane analogues of methyl D-ribo- and -arablno-furanoside having phosphorus at the anomerlc centre have been produced as Indicated in Scheme 1.
