The discussion in Chapter 4 was directed at the study of the linear response of covalent systems to light. We turn next to a series of related properties that can be studied, using the parameters developed in Chapter 4 and presented in Table [Pg.118]

The first is the response of a higher-than-linear order in the applied field. To study this property we shall reformulate the response problem in a form that will be very useful for understanding other properties as well. [Pg.118]

Another important use of dielectrics is as intermetal dielectrics (IMDs), where the dielectrics insulate metal lines from each other. The dielectric material must fill small gaps with high aspect ratios (depth to width) while maintaining all other dielectric properties. It is essential that the IMDs are void-free at submicrometer dimensions for both performance and rehabiUty. [Pg.348]

A study of inosine using dipole moment and other dielectric properties suggests that a syn conformation predominates in sol-... [Pg.201]
