Operators with continuous spectrum

A more sophisticated instrument is the Farrand VIS-UV Chromatogram Analyser CFigure 3) that can also be used to measure the fluorescence spectra as well as to obtain reliable quantitative data. This particular instrument is equipped with a Xenon lamp that emits a continuous spectrum of wavelengths. It has two monochromators and two filters, for both the excitation and emission modes and can be operated either in double-beam ratio or single beam. 

Each of the methods cited yields a measure of average crystallinity, which is really only defined operationally and in which the polymer is assumed artificially to consist of a mixture of perfectly ordered and completely disordered segments. In reality, there will be a continuous spectrum of structures with various degrees of order in the solid material. Average crystallinities determined by the different techniques cannot always be expected to agree very closely, because each method measures a different manifestation of the structural regularities in the solid polymer. 

In general, relation (21) is false one only has exp(tpoint spectrum (constituted of eigenvalues), and for the residual spectrum, but it is false for the continuous spectrum there exist abstract operators A with empty spectrum, but such that the continuous spectrum of S t) is the circle of radius exp(Trt) thus the solutions of equation (20) grow exponentially in time.

The NMR spectrum can be recorded in various ways. The earliest commercial NMR spectrometers operated in continuous-wave mode, in which the sample is irradiated at constant frequency v while the magnetic field is swept through a range of values. An important aspect of this observation is that similar constant correlation lengths are also obtained classically.67 In the classical case, however, the correlation lengths attain a constant value only after a short relaxation time. The very existence of classical relaxation is the major difference with respect to the quantum behavior.
