The Mercury symbol is the same symbol for the planet Mercury, but we are not talking about the same thing. These are the substances found in the three kingdoms of vegetable, animal and mineral but they are not the same in each kingdom, for they each work on a different vibratory level. 

Materia. Medica is an old term from the time when all remedies were natural products of vegetable, animal or mineral origin. According to Schmidt (1759-1809, Vienna) Materia Medica included pharmacognosy (description of the drugs and their identification) and pharmacodynamics (the effects of the drugs). Schmidt was the first to use the term pharmacognosy. 

The term natural fibers covers a broad range of vegetable, animal, and mineral fibers. However, in the composites industry, it usually refers to wood fiber and plant-based bast, leaf seed, and stem fibers. These fibers often contribute greatly to the structural performance of the plant and, when used in plastic composites, can provide significant reinforcement. Below is a brief introduction to some of the natural fibers used in plastics. More detailed information can be found elsewhere [1-4]. 

Vine black may refer to a char of woody material from vines (Vitis spp.), but has been historically appHed to chars and cokes of a wide range of other materials such as yeasts and, as Winter (1983, citing the third edition of Mayer s The Artists Handbook of Materials and Techniques, 1970) puts it, various second-rate materials of vegetable, animal and petroleum origins . Tingry (1804), however, states that this does in fact come from burnt vine twigs. 

Turkey red oil, derived from - castor oil, was one of the first products of this type. Other fats and oils of vegetable, animal or fish origin are used widely.
