Nothing else

In the case of shear waves probes, we can do nothing else but using a steel blocks with holes at different depths (see figure 4a). The automatic system is described further. 

The result, F = 4, means that one is free to specify, for example, T, P, and two mole fractious in an equilibrium mixture of these five chemical species, provided nothing else is arbitrarily set. Thus, it cannot simultaneously be required that the system be prepared from specified amounts of particular constituent species.

After the compressor is shut down and safely blown down through the flare system, the normal blowdown valve must be closed to block any gas that may enter the flare system from other relief valves. The manual blowdown valve to atmosphere protects the operators from small leaks into the compressor during maintenance operations. 

The fifth reason is that nothing else has the same impact as an accident report. If we read an article that tells us to check modifications, we agree and forget. If we read the reports in Chapter 2, we are more likely to remember. 

In the physical world nothing else takes plaice but this variation, subject (possibly) to the law of continuity.
