Norwegian Country Study

A Norwegian study by Olav Spigset utilizing that country s Adverse Drug Reactions Monitor Center reviewed 1,202 reports describing 1,861 adverse reactions to SSRIs. Again, the pattern of reports for the individual SSRIs (citalopram, fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine, and sertraline) was very similar, with three exceptions. Fluvoxamine reports were comparatively elevated for gastrointestinal symptoms, fluoxetine... [Pg.140]

The geographical coverage of environmental levels and trends information is limited mainly to Canada/Great Lakes, Canadian and Norwegian Arctic, and Western Europe, with the exception of one detailed study from Japan. Given the large production of CPs in China and possibly in India, there is an urgent need for more studies on environmental levels of CPs in Asian countries. Chinese CP production capacity was 300,000 t in 2003 [77] and reached 600,000 t in 2006 [78]. Actual CP output in China in 2003 was estimated at 150,000 t [77], which exceeds the combined European and North American production of about... [Pg.130]

The available reports about PFCs in Nordic surface waters present relatively low concentrations in comparison with the rest of Europe (Table 1). The low population density and fewer industrial activities in Scandinavian countries compared to central Europe could explain the lower concentratiOTis found in the North of Europe. One study, in which Norwegian lake water was analyzed (n = 4), found low concentrations of PFCs. PFOA was measured at the highest concentration of... [Pg.80]
