Non-polluting technology

The fifth objective concerns the need to preserve the environment. This objective requires the use of non-polluting technologies, the reduction of harmful emissions from existing chemical sites and the development of more efficient and specialized pollutant treatment plants. 

Industries consisting of smaller individual companies have fewer resources to develop new, non-polluting technologies (or even enforce safe practices). For example, the metal fabrication industry is composed of smaller plants using older technology which do not have the resources to make environmental improvements and remain competitive. 

Photovoltaics (photo for light, voltaic for electricity), often abbreviated as PV, is the direct conversion of sunlight to electricity. Considered by many to be the most promising of the renewable electric technologies m the long term, it is an attractive alternative to conventional sources of electricity for many reasons it is silent and non-polluting, reqnires no special... 

Although technological innovation may eventually provide non-polluting alternatives, at present only nuclear power is a cost eflective non-fossil source of electric power. 

It is, therefore, a cutting-edge technology with great potential, because it is a new way to obtain natural products it allows the adaptation of new high quality products with appropriate value to consumer habits enables the development of new non-polluting processes and initiate the development of a tertiary sector led to the new technology. 

Despite of prescription and a plenty of researches in the field of non-polluting manufacture, the problem of recycling and processing of industrial wastes remains actual till now. Therefore, all has appeared economically, technologically and ecologically proved necessity for development and introduction of new progressive and safe methods of the decision of a problem of disposal of biosphere from danger of its pollution by waste products of manufacture and consumption. 

In many regards, the use of fuel cells for electric power production is very attractive. Fuel cell systems are versatile, quiet, and virtually non-polluting. The single major factor limiting the widespread use of fuel cells in electric power production is their cost. However, if projected price reductions are realized, fuel cells will become cost competitive with other power generation technologies in a growing number of areas.
