Nomen est omen

Nomen est omen. There are no known compounds of the colorless, odorless gas. At 1 %, there is almost 30 times more argon than C02 in the atmosphere. 

A discrete-event simulation tool considers - nomen est omen - discrete events at discrete points in time. Typically, in a discrete-event simulator items such as parts are moving through the modeled system changing their state, e.g., when they enter or leave a machine. A reactor in the process industry continuously produces a certain output. This is something a discrete-event simulator is not really made... 

In a medical sense, a narcotic is a substance that causes narcosis nomen est omen). Narcosis primarily means a decrease in activity, maybe decrease of pain, hallucinations, a decrease of interest in the external world, a sort of introversion. Prohibited narcotics include heroin, morphine, marijuana, and LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide). Cocaine does not have any of these classic narcotic effects. Medically, it is a stimulant, a substance that increases activity. This has dangers of its own, so prohibiting the use of cocaine without doubt serves the interests of society in general. 

Nomen est omen, this triatomic molecule (Fig. 4.2) seems destined to induce fears because of the word cyan in its name. It is or was also mentioned under names such as bromine cyanide, bromocyan, bromocyanide, bromocyanogen, cya-nobromane, and cyanobromide, none of which soimd less ominous than cyanogen bromide.
