Nitrogen soil emission

The nitrogen-hydrogen emission intensity produced in the plasma at 336 nm is monitored. A practical detection limit of 0.1 ug nitrogen per ml was obtained for 5 ml aqueous sample solutions. The method has been applied to determine the exchangeable ammonium contents of soil samples.
