National groups minority nations

There is no one race question for the North and another for the South. There is a national question, and it concerns the integration of the Negro into our entire national community. But it concerns much more than the Negro it concerns the integration of all the minority racial groups the Mexican, the Oriental, the American Indian. 

In planning federally funded studies, attention must be paid to the current requirements for inclusion of sex/ gender and racial/ethnic minorities. According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH) policy, all clinical research must include female subjects and members of racial/ethnic minority groups, unless a clear and compelling rationale is provided indicating that inclusion is inappropriate with respect to the health of the subjects... 

The Division of Health Interview Statistics, National Center for Health Statistics, CDC conducted a survey entitled Utilization of Complementary and Alternative Medicine by United States Adults in 1999. The survey attempted to obtain a representative sample of minorities and also patients without telephones. This is important because these demographic groups tend to report lower utilization of botanicals products than Caucasians and those of higher socioeconomic status. The CDC found that 9.6% of the population took botanical medicines. Hispanics reported the lowest use of CAM followed by African-Americans, and then Caucasians 19.9%, 24.1%, and 30.8%i, respectively. The western part of the United States reported the highest use of CAM (15). 

Steven F. Watkins Out of about 30. Before they arrived we did not have any tenure-track women faculty. In fact, one of these women, who was a postdoc at National Institute of Standards and Technology and who, I am sure, worked day and night as a postdoc, mentioned to me one day that her work load had gone way up at LSU because all of the women graduate students wanted to talk to her about their problems. The central idea is that every group has to be comfortable in the academic environment. I do not know how you do it for every group. You identify and try to make provisions for women, for international students, for minority students. The white males can fend for themselves, I suppose.
