Opening the cube leads to ladder-like structures such as Li4Cl4(azetidine)2[N-(3-aminopropyl)-azetidine]2, Li4l4(2,4,6-trimethylpyridine)6, and Li4Br4(2,6-dimethylpyridine)6. The latter, prepared by recrystallizing LiBr in pyridine, has a structure typical for the class i.e., a stepped tetramer (see Pigure 97). A more complex species, LiLLiClLiL(THP) 2, is formed as a side product of the reaction of [LiL(THP)J (L = A,A-dimethyl-V -trimethylsilylethane-1,2-diamide)... [Pg.76]

Manufacture The copolymer of styrene-maleic anhydride is slurried in mineral oil and esterified to about 70% with a Cs-is alcohol mixture, using an acid catalyst at 150-160 C. Esterification is then carried to 95% using n-butanol. N- 3-aminopropyl)-morpholine is finally added to react with the remaining acidity. The final product is sold as a 35 5% polymer concentrate. [Pg.163]

Polyamines are low-molecular-weight molecules which are found in both prokaryotes and eukaryotes, and which fulfil essential needs for growth, division and differentiation. The most common poly amines are putrescine (1,4-diaminobutane tetramethylene-diamine), spermidine (N-(3-aminopropyl)-l,4-butane diamine) and spermine (N,N -bis(3-aminopropyl)-1,4-butane diamine). Cadaverine (1,5-diaminopentane) is also found in some micro-organisms (1,2). Most prokaryotes do not contain spermine but all cells contain putrescine and spermidine, in most cases in millimolar concentrations. [Pg.119]
