Multilayer green light-emitting devices have been fabricated from poly(V-vinylcarbazole) and 2-(4-biphenylyl)-5-(4-tert-butylphenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole. The EL is highly dependent on the thickness of the PPV layer in such devices. The performance is strongly dependent on the polymeric structure, which can be tuned by the introduction of side groups and comonomers.
