Multifunctional photothermal agents

The multifunctional photothermal agents move us one step further toward elinical applications. These results also provide improved recognition of the synergistic effect, which is important for developing multifunctional nanoparticles for biomedieal applieations. 

For the four main types of photothermal agents, research interests focus more and more on functionalization. Generally, there are two types of multifunctional PAs synergetic therapy, combining PAT with chemotherapies, or combining PAs with other imaging abilities. Here we give a brief introduction to them both.
