In this work, examples are shown of the use of the computerized analytical approach in multicomponent polymer systems. The approach works well for both fractionated and whole polymers. The methodology can (1) permit differentiation to be made as to Whether the given sample conprises one conponent or a mixture of several components (2) allow the NMR spectrum of a polymer mixture to be analyzed in an unbiased fashion (3) give information on mole fractions and reaction probabilities that can be significant variables in understanding catalyst structures or polymerization mechanisms. 

In a previous publication [8] we described a systematic screening of the binary interactions between 36 polyanions and 40 polycations. As a result of this study it became clear that capsules prepared from simple binary polymer complexes would not be mechanically adequate and multicomponent polymer systems would offer advantages. The rationale for capsule improvement, and for the use of a multicomponent system, has been presented in the Introduction. Manufacturers of multicomponent polymer systems are modifying the properties of homopolymers to obtain superior materials. These materials are either stronger, tougher, more flexible, will withstand environmental influences, or have other desirable characteristics.
