The cognitive function of 24 healthy subjects was not impaired by moxonidine 400 micrograms daily, but the presence of moxonidine was found to increase the cognitive impairment caused by lorazepam 1 mg daily. For this reason the manufacturers warn that the sedative effects of the benzodiazepines may possibly be enhanced by moxonidine.
