Mount Carmel

Mount Carmel Declaration Technion-Israel Instiute of Technology, Dec. 21, 1974. [Pg.96]

By 1955 around 125 members resided at Mount Carmel. This clearly gives the New Davidians an Eastern European flavour, at least in their origins. [Pg.6]

From a cave inhabited by humans at Mount Carmel, Israel, montgomeryite and crandallite have been reported (Goldberg and Nathan, 1975), in addition to dahllite and what is reported to be hydroxyapatite — said to be almost devoid of CO2 although no analysis is given. This represents a mixed type of deposit in which calcium is derived from limestone and aluminium from clay. [Pg.175]

The earliest seen report for soybean distribution in Canada was by T.V.P. (see Peticolas) of Mount Carmel, Ohio, in 1855. He reported that seeds were distributed from Texas to Canada. However, nothing is known as to who planted the seed, or where, and no results were reported. Thus, the first practical introduction of soybeans into Canada was by Zavitz in 1893 (Beversdorf, 1995). The Ontario Agricultural College employed him, and for 30 years he evaluated and selected soybean introductions for both fodder and grain production. [Pg.24]

The purpose of this study was to summarize rain chemistry data in Haifa, Israel. Rain samples were collected daily at the Technion site on Mount Carmel, near the Mediterranean Coast, during eight hydrological years, and were analyzed on site. Data indicated that sea salt (Na", Cl , Mg, K", and SO ") and soil minerals (Ca, Mg, HCO3" and S0 ) still dominate the composition of the precipitation. However, an average pH of 5.3 suggested that manmade contributions (ff, S0 , Cl", NOa", and metals) may... [Pg.11]
