The use of chemical communication in maternal-young interactions in marsupials and monotremes. As previously noted, marsupials and mono-tremes are born (hatched) at a very early stage of development and have an extended period of development outside of the body of the mother. 

Our church fellowship was also predominantly Caucasian. My wife began to volunteer and interact with guests at the local Florence Crittenden Home for unwed mothers. We had several mothers stay with us for lengths of time. Mary, a young African-American, lived with us for several months. We met her family, who lived in a small nearby town, and came to love her gentle, cheerful spirit. We also saw the personal and financial burden her compliant nature and two children...
