Dr. Hopkins is the author of numerous scientific papers in the fields of bacterial and animal viruses and in developmental biology, and she wrote, with four others, the fourth edition of the textbook The Molecular Biology of the Gene. She codeveloped and taught the first freshman biology course required of all MIT undergraduates, for which she was named a Class of 1960 Fellow. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (AAAS) and a member of the Institute of Medicine. In 1995 she was appointed chair of the first Committee on Women Faculty in the School of Science at MIT. [Pg.141]

I thank the many colleagues who have helped with advice and protocols, in particular, John Talian of the Laboratory of Molecular and Developmental Biology, National Eye Institute, and William lane of Harvard Microchemistry and Cambridge Prochem. I also thank Andrea Anderson, Nick Kim, and Michael Shaughnessy for invaluable contributions to our work. [Pg.575]

Molecular and Cellular Proteomics. Bethesda, MD American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Monthly. ISSN 1535-9476. Scope includes structural and functional properties of proteins and their expression, developmental time courses of the organism, how the presence or absence of proteins affects biological responses and how the interaction of proteins with germane cellular partners allows them to function, and advances in methodology, array technologies, changes in expression of the proteins, calculations and/or predictions, and aspects of bioinformatics that address needs in proteomics. [Pg.44]
