Mixing, of gases

Gas Mixing The mixing of gases as they pass verticaUy up through the bed has never been considered a problem. However, horizontal mixing is very poor and requires effective distributors if two gases are to be mixed in the fliiidized bed. [Pg.1568]

Since xA and. yb are less than 1, ln. A and ln.vB are <0 and AmiXS>0.mm Figure 2.13 demonstrates that the mixing of gases causes increased disorder on the molecular level. [Pg.90]

The fabricated microchannel plates were stacked together and tightened by end-plates to prevent the leak and mixing of gases as shown in Fig. 2. The dimensions of the reactor excluding fittings were about 60 mm x 40 mm x 3 mm respectively. [Pg.655]

The thermal movement of molecules often serves as a prototype of random motion. In fact, molecular diffusion is the result of the random walk of atoms and molecules through gaseous, liquid, solid, or mixed media. This section deals with molecular diffusion of organic substances in gases (particularly air) and in aqueous solutions. Diffusion in porous media (i.e., mixes of gases or liquids with solids) and in other media will be discussed in the following section. [Pg.798]

During the operation of a SOFC, two effects are identified to reduce the electrical power available from an ideal cell the first is the ohmic resistance which generates heat, and the second is the irreversible mixing of gases which causes a voltage drop. Generally, this means that an SOFC is not able to convert the complete fuel. [Pg.15]

The mixing of gases at constant pressure may also be regarded for each constituent gas as an expansion of its volume decreasing its partial pressure (p - p ), and hence the entropy of mixing can also be obtained from Eq. 3.48 for the mixing of two gases as shown in Eq. 3.52 ... [Pg.34]

In IVT AN (1977-80) there was a task in view of reception of pure regenerative gas, for desulphurization an ionized additive on MHD electric power station working on a coal. For reception of pure regenerative gas reactions (1) and (4) have been chosen. As the initial mix of gases on a number of the physical and chemical reasons cannot be heated up to temperature 1200K up to a reactionary pipe the experimental reactionary pipe all over again was filled inhibitor and only then with the nickel catalyst. On Fig. 3 the device of an experimental pipe catalytic is shown to conversion of methane and characteristic distributions of temperatures and concentration ... [Pg.557]

Diffusion is simply the mix of gases. Graham s Law can be modified to approximate the distance traveled by a gas to mix ... [Pg.61]
