Micronase - Glyburide

Howard, F. M. (1975) Hypoglycaemia in Diabetics treated with Micronase (Glyburide). In Micronase. Pharmacological and Clinical Evaluation, p. 164. Editor H. Rifkin. Excerpta Medica, Amsterdam. [Pg.323]

The incidence of serious side effects with glyburide, sold as DiaBeta and Micronase, is low. Gastrointestinal disturbances develop in 1.8% of patients. Skin rashes occur in 1.5% of patients and may disappear with continued use. [Pg.342]

Glyburide (DiaBeta, Micronase, Glynase), also known as glibenclamide, is approximately 150 times as potent as tolbutamide on a molar basis and twice as potent as glipizide (discussed later). Glyburide is completely metabolized in the liver to two weakly active metabolites before excretion in the urine. Its average duration of action is 24 hours. [Pg.773]
