Microchip-Based Liquid Chromatography - Techniques and Possibilities 

This chapter gives a very brief overview on the possibilities of how liquid-phase chromatographic separations can be realized on microchips, where the pros and cons of the various techniques lie, and how easy or tedious the implementation of optimization procedures might be. Because of the relatively young age of microchip-based chromatography, the focus in the research community has been on demonstrating different separation principles. Closer evaluation of the performance and, in particular, optimization is only just beginning to attract more attention.
