Micro-seismic activity

Following Schofield s study, A. T. Green and H. L. Dunegan were known to develope standard procedures and devices (Drouillard 1996). In relation to the micro-seismic activity, H. R. Hardy, Jr. organized and held the series of five Conferences on Acoustic Emission/Microseismic Activity in Geologic Structures and Materials [1974, 1978, 1981, 1985 and 1991]. These obviously contributed to the development of AE techniques in geological fields. 

There were 25 micro-seismic events happened on coal floor of work face during the mining activity, among which 8 times of the events had the bigger energy, mostly appearing on the weakness of the floor in lower part of the work face. 

There was no micro-seismic event happened in sinking column and the permeability had no obvious change with mining activities. 

Research on the properties of loess soils in seismically active areas and on the determination of the increase in seismic intensity (using engineering geological data) for micro-seismic zoning.
