Methallyl methacrylate

Richard at Rh6ne-Poulenc [67] and Zosel at BASF [68] have carried out extensive studies on the dynamic mechanical properties of latex films. They examined latex made from monomers (like butyl acrylate and butadiene) that crosslink spontaneously during emulsion polymerization. Here crosslink density was reduced through the use of chain transfer agents. Alternatively, with monomers like BMA which form non-crosslinked latex, crosslinking was induced through the addition of bifimctiona] monomers such as methallyl methacrylate (MAMA). Richard has recently published a review of his work in this area [75]. [Pg.268]

J. Fock, E. Esselbom, and W. Hoehner. Use of copolymers of polyoxy-alkylene ethers of allyl or methallyl alcohols and acrylic or methacrylic esters as emulsion breakers for crude oil containing water (Verwendung von Copolymerisaten von Polyoxyalkylenethem des Allyl- und/oder Methallylalkohols und Acryl- oder Methacrylestem als Dismulgatoren fur Wasser enthaltendes Erdol). Patent DE 3513550,1986. [Pg.389]

Free-radical multicomponent copolymerization of dialkylstannyl maleates or dialkylstannyl dimethacrylates with methallyl alcohol (or (J-hydroxyalkyl acrylates) and vinyl monomers (sryrene, methacrylic acid or methacrylamide) yields polymeric powders. Due to their storage and thermal stability and impact strength they are used as protective coatings 79). [Pg.121]

Obtaining synthetic PAN Cber of a nitrone type is preceded by the preparation of a spinning solution by means of copolymerization of AN with MA (or VA) and itaconic acid (lA), or acrylic acid (AA), or methacrylic acid (MAA), or methallyl sulfonate (MAS). Usually, mixtures contain 15% of AN, 5-6% of the second monomer, 1-2% of... [Pg.85]
