Metallo-organic complex

Oxidations by molecular oxygen have been studied extensively using organic polymers as well as metallo-organic complexes as heterogeneous catalysts. Molecular oxygen is a biradical and most of its oxidation reactions go by a free radical... [Pg.15]

However most work has been done using metallo-organic complexes as catalysts, and the mechanistic picture here is somewhat brighter. In this review we... [Pg.17]

Adsorption on a solid catalyst surface, complex formation in homogeneous catalysis with metallo-organic complexes and in biocatalysis with enzymes share the same principle, i.e. the total number of sites is constant. Therefore, the rate expressions for reactions on heterogeneous, homogeneous and biocatalysts have a similar form. The constant number of active sites results in rate expressions that differ from homogeneous gas phase kinetics. Partial pressures are usually used in rate expressions for gas-phase reactions, while concentrations are used when the reactions take place in the liquid phase. It appears that definitions and nomenclature of particular kinetics constants in the different sub-communities differ sometimes. In the following sections the expressions used by the different subdisciplines will be compared and their conceptual basis outlined. [Pg.82]

Cobalt seems to produce similar effects to those of Ni and Cr. Most authors agree that secondary harmful reactions are not directly generated by the presence of ions, but by their still scarcely known metabolites. The degree of oxidation and the formation of metallo-organic complexes may play an essential role, in particular for Cr, the primary ionic form of which after liberation is the trivalent ion. Its active toxic, allergenic and carcinogenic form, however, is the hex-avalent ion (Bartolozzi and Black 1985). [Pg.372]

We shall consider the following three groups of catalysts heterogeneous inorganic systems, carbon materials, and metallo-organic complexes. [Pg.374]

The activation energy of the complexes dropped considerably, as did their resistivities. The ternary metallo-organic complexes with PVP exhibited further drops in resistivity at 1 1 molar concentration. [Pg.52]
