Mechanochemically synthesized

Farther growth of the polymeric chain proceeds in the nsnal manner. Compared to the polymeric materials obtained by conventional methods, the mechanochemically synthesized polyacryl and polymethacrylamides have lower molecular weights (Simonescu et al. 1983). Acrylonitrile, styrene, e-caprolactam, and isoprene as well as aryl and methacrylamides have special optimal duration of the polymerization on grinding (Oprea and Popa 1980). In the case of the aryl and methacrylamides, the polymerization proceeds slowly, usually between 24 and 72 h. After that, some acceleration takes place and the process is completed in 96 h (in total). [Pg.284]

Mechanochemical syntheses of some macromolecular complexes of Mn with polyamides and polyesters have been achieved. Simionescu et al. [93] reported the ultrasonic mechanochemical condensation of polyethylene terephthalate,... [Pg.110]

The solid-phase reactions starting from metal powders in conditions of friction (Examples 8 and 9) are described in two recent monographs [201,202] (see the scheme of the mechanochemical reactor in Ref. 202). In this respect, we note the possibility of a solid-state synthesis with the use of metal salts. In particular, mechanochemical syntheses are widely used for obtaining acetylacetonates [698-70Id] by the method of ligand exchange, for example (3.277) [701a] ... [Pg.277]

Metal halides of the form AMFj have been produced in an inert gas atmosphere by the mechanochemical combination of AF and MF, where A is an alkali metal and M is a divalent metal ion, with milling times of 3-12h. This method has been successful for Na (M=Fe, Mn and Ni) and K (M=Mg, Zn, Mn, Ni, Cu, Co and Fe) [ 10]. A series of chlorides of the formula KMCI3 (M=Ti, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu and Zn) [11] have been prepared. Direct combination of CaF and LaFj produced Ca, 3La3.Fj. There has been interest in mechanochemically synthesized halides as fast ion conductors, examples being NaSn Fj, RbPbFj and Pbj. Sn Fj [12]. [Pg.48]

Similar processes have been observed using metal(O) vapor deposition on polymers, metal dissolution in the presence of polymers, mechanochemical syntheses involving macromolecular ligands, etc. However, transition metal reduction is most often observed in these processes. Hence compounds of and are reduced relatively easily, as it was shown with PVA as a model compound. A graft copolymer of cellulose is reduced in a similar manner. The degree of reduction depends on the pH of reaction medium (maximum of 70% at pH 4.5-5.0), and if die resulting is fuUy bound to the polymer. [Pg.161]
