Other workers have exploited the S-S theory to successfully correlate mechanical aging and volume aging data (e.g., [Higuchi et al., 1996] for polycarbonate). Ferguson and Cowie [2008] have attempted the same correlation for PVAc, and the results of this for two aging temperatures are shown in Figure 9.5.

Currently, the polyisoprene vulcanized offers many attributes of great interest at a technological perspective, included damping, mechanical, age and heat resistance. 

Europrene compounds can be extended with plasticizers that are basically a paraflinic oil containing specified amounts of naphthenic and aromatic fractions. In this work, the quest is to study the influence of thermo mechanical ageing on Aluminium alloy in which Aluminium is the principal element (parent metal) with traces of other elements such as Copper, Magnesium, Iron, and Zinc. Aluminum is subject to internal stresses and strains when it is overheated the tendency of the metal to creep under these stresses tends to result in delayed distortions. While time-aging time superposition has been extensively used to analyze creep and stress relaxation data, failure to achieve this has been reported in some cases. For example, Robertson and Wilkes [35] have questioned the applicability of time-aging time superposition to the creep data of PMMA and PMMA/SAN blends. It has been argued that failure to produce a master curve was due to overlapping, for the PMMA component, of primary and secondary mechanical relaxations. The extent to which this will affect the mechanical aging data depends on the annealing temperature and it is expected to become more pronounced at lower temperatures.
