Me-too copies

Ring variations around phenylbutazone. The anti-inflammatory drag phenylbutazone (1, Fig. 14.16) led to many me-too copies, such as the ring-opened analogue bumadizon (2) (Ca salt = Eumotol ) or the ring-closed analogue...

Consider also that for every really new drug there are copies coming out very rapidly, so-called me toos or followers. Since these are often in practice only slight modifications of the original molecules, the number of truly original medicines is really much less than 433.

In handwriting analysis, the lack of rigidity in the baseline reveals flexibility. On the other hand, excessive control is revealed when someone writes a sentence that appears to have been typed by a typewriter (each line is exact and perfect, the baseline could have been drawn on a ruler). The term "anal-retentive" comes to mind when I see pretty, precisely spaced, copy-book style, totally balanced writing. This tells me the person follows all the rules way too closely. As you can imagine from what I have just said, most of the data had to remain confidential, because the women had spoken to the committee on this condition, and because the number of women is so small that they can usually be identified as individuals from the other types of data collected. The data on space and research volume were considered too confidential by the departments even to be shared with the whole committee and were collected instead within each department, shown to me as chair of the committee, and placed only in the dean s and president s copies of the report. The only data that could easily be released were the data on the relative numbers of men and women at various career levels.

A follow-up report suggested that both types of reactor should be studied further, although there seemed to be a preference for the liquid metal reactor as providing better performance and being more compact, so allowing for a smaller submarine. The report was obviously a little too tecbnical for the First Lord, who wrote a slightly plaintive note at the top of his copy Can someone explain this to me in simple language JPLT .
