Matrices trace

Here, DF represents the matrix product of the density matrix Dj j and the matrix representation Fij = <( )ilF l(f>j> of the F operator, both taken in the (f>j basis, and Tr represents the matrix trace operation. [Pg.51]

The main trend in the development of analytical chemistry is the determination of lower and lower concentrations of analyte in samples of an increasingly complex matrix (trace analysis). In the case of trace analysis, several problems arise from the following [1] ... [Pg.17]

As has been mentioned, the algorithms described in the previous section provide good approximations which, however, need a posterior renormalization in order to correct as closely as possible their error which manifests itself not only when the total contraction is applied in order to get the matrix trace but also when partial contractions are performed. [Pg.40]

Fig. 21.4 Positive ion MALDI-TOF mass spectra of an organic extract of human blood plasma recorded with DFiB as matrix. Trace (a) represents the original extract, whereas all other samples were diluted with CHCI3 prior to mixing with matrix. The following dilutions were used 1 5 (b), 1 10 (c), 1 25 (d)and 1 50 (e). The peaks at m/z = 577.5 and 603.5 are caused by the loss of one acyl residue from the TAG. Please note the arising of triacylglycerol peaks and the reduction of PC at higher dilutions... Rg. 40 Difference IR spectra of a HCOOH/HBr/Kr (1/2/1000) matrix photolyzed at 193 nm showing the results of (1) annealing at 31 K (5 min) (2) 1 hour (thick line) and 2 hours (thin line) at 4.3 K under Globar irradiation after annealing (3) narrow-band IR excitation at ca. 3614 cm of the annealed matrix. Trace 4 shows the difference IR spectra of a photolyzed and annealed HCOOH/HCl/Kr (1/2/1000) matrix as a result of 1 hour (thick line) and 2 hours (thin line) at 4.3 K under Globar irradiation. The spectra were recorded at 4.3 K, The bands marked by asterisks are tentatively assigned to a formic acid dimer. Reproduced from Ref, 116 with permission from the PCCP Owner Societies. [Pg.60]

We are now ready to construct the reducible representations spanned by the translations and by the librations separately at the F-point (q = 0). Since there are two molecules in the unit cell, both representations are six-dimensional, and we require only the characters of the matrix traces. Clearly, and [Pg.300]

Note that in this analysis methodology, every system function is listed and analyzed. For this reason, not every entry in the FHA form will constitute a hazard, since not every function is hazardous. The analysis documents, however, that all functions were considered by the FHA. Note also that the analysis becomes a traceability matrix, tracing each function, its safety impact, and resulting safety requirements. The FHA can become somewhat of a living... [Pg.168]
