Material tramp

Magnetic pulleys are available ia diameters from 152 to 1524 mm and ia widths that match the conveyor belt width. The material burden on the belt, belt speed, and type of tramp iron expected to be encountered are all considerations ia magnetic pulley selections. 

Automatic discharging suspended magnets can be operated transversely (Fig. 2) or parallel to conveyor flow (Fig. 3b and 3c). Because the tramp iron must be attracted from a buried location and turned 90° from the movement of the conveyor belt, a larger and stronger magnet is required for a transverse installation. In some instances, the material handling layout, or desired operation location, dictates the use of the transversely mounted magnet. 

Grates may be installed in all circuits of diy, pulverized material where contamination or accidents may occur from tramp or fine iron. 

Hot gases can be introduced to dry the fuel being pulverized. Refractory material such as tramp iron is removed in the first pulverizing chamber and eliminated through a tramp-iron pocket.

Contaminants Provide measures to remove unacceptable contaminants from feed materials, process streams and services, e.g. entrained liquid, tramp metal, unwanted particulate solids... 

Produced in this way, these materials can be less reliable, with the introduction of unwanted tramp elements. Where proving tests have indicated the suitability of a proprietary alloy for specific application, the same source of material should be used for construction. Published compositional data are typical values cast analyses should be requested for critical applications.
