Matching parameter

Before starting the automated calibration, a number of the peak match parameters need to be set. These parameters determine the limits within which the acquired data must lie for the software to recognize the calibration masses and result in a successful calibration. Some of these parameters are ... [Pg.203]

Once a full instrument calibration is in place, it is not always necessary to repeat the full calibration procedure when the instrument is next used. Instead of a full calibration, a calibration verification can be performed by infusing the calibration solution and setting all peak matching parameters to the values that were used... [Pg.203]

Every summand in the denominator is the spanning tree weight. Let us recall that, in this case, the sense of the spanning tree is a non-cyclic sequence of reactions with the help of which a given intermediate is formed of all others. Hence it can easily be shown that (a) every summand of the denominator Z.XDX and of the matching parameter Pt cannot simultaneously contain weights for the direct and reverse reactions of the same step (b)... [Pg.207]

In the former case, a step of each cycle can enter into one simple cycle. In the numerator of eqn. (46) for the step rate we will observe only one cyclic characteristic, C, corresponding to this cycle. The presence of an additional cycle affects only the value of the matching parameter P. The cycle rate can vary only quantitatively, but in neither case does the reaction direction vary. This situation corresponds to the so-called "kinetic matching (see, for example, ref. 40). Assuming that all steps are reversible, the total number of spanning trees amounts to n n2 + n,n —nxn2, where n, and n2 are the number of steps in both cycles. [Pg.212]

The matching parameter P1 accounting for the connection of the node K with cycle I, will be... [Pg.213]

The matching parameter P4 characterizing the connection of the node IK with cycle IV, takes the form... [Pg.213]

The cyclic characteristics and matching parameters for the cycles being known, we can easily determine a numerator for the steady-state rate. Since the denominator is cumbersome, we omit its description here. [Pg.213]

We have been able to match laboratory model results with a computer simulation program (Todd, Dietrich Chase s Multiflood) with values of the matching parameters which do not vary widely in most cases. For carbon dioxide foam simulationr it was necessary to invert the normal assignment of oil and water components. [Pg.372]

The construction of the Lam6 spheroconal harmonic polynomials involves Eq. (43) with matching parameters Eq. (44), matching species, and matching excitations of the respective elliptical cone coordinate degrees of freedom. The matching of species and kinds are fhe following ... [Pg.165]

Thus when a = 0, then if = 0 and hence e(t) = emin(f)-However driving the companion model with model-matching parameter variations, a (t), will cause Y(r) = z(t), and hence e(t) = z(t) - Y(t) = 0. Accordingly,... [Pg.311]

Even for block copolymers, in which the phase separation can be distinguished in electron micrographs, there are problems in matching parameters such as Poisson s ratios of the two components nevertheless the simple Takayanagi models, particularly when extended by a treatment to account for the finite length of the reinforcing component, can describe numerous features of static and d3mamic elastic behaviour. [Pg.190]

In analytical analysis of left ventricular contraction, based on experimental measurement, and even more so in computations based on non-invasive measurement, one must be very careful as to what are the clinical parameters and how to use them in the numerical computation. The wall pressure distribution which is used as the matching parameters between the intraventricular solution and the myocardial contraction analysis must be specified to include the actual pressure and the dynamic and acceleration pressures. Solutions based on catheterization, which give total pressure, might therefore, show large deviation from reality. [Pg.241]

Sect. 5.7.5). A collinear pump geometry allows optimum overlap between the pump beam and the waist of the fundamental resonator mode in the crystal. The mode-matching parameter (i.e., the ratio of pump-beam waist to resonator-mode waist) can be chosen by appropriate mirror curvatures. The optical density of the active medium, which depends on the preparation of the Fa centers [5.146], has to be carefully adjusted to achieve optimum absorption of the pump wavelength. The crystal is mounted on a cold finger cooled with liquid nitrogen in order to achieve a high quantum efficiency t]. [Pg.327]

It might not seem surprising that empirical parameters are not unique, but there are two important implications. The first is purely pragmatic it implies that the parameters are not strictly transferable between different systems. Thus, one should not mix-and-match parameters from different sets of work, and one should not simply add parameters for a new guest molecule onto an existing set. Instead, any extension of the parameter set should be accompanied by a complete re-optimisation of the whole set. [Pg.248]
