Magnetic Field-Responsive Smart Polymer Composites... [Pg.1]

More recently, increasing interest has been devoted to exploration of multirespon-sive magnetic polymers, which exhibit sensitivity to several external stimuli. Micro- and nanospheres that combine both magnetic, temperature, and pH sensitivity were also elaborated and studied. These new results provide novel possibilities for preparation of more complex magnetic field-responsive materials like membranes with on/off switching control. [Pg.138]

In this article, we review recent advances in mechanical and swelling behavior of magnetic field-responsive soft materials, including flexible polymer networks and gels. [Pg.138]

This last property has been often utilized recently for the design of magnetic field-responsive nanocarriers, in combination with thermosensitive polymers. As an example, Baeza et al. (2012) coated mesoporous silica nanoparticles with pNIPAAm and loaded them with a fluorescent dye and SPIONs. They observed that application of an alternating magnetic field caused release of the dye from the particles, which could be attributed to... [Pg.347]
