An investigation by the center revealed how the administration pressured scientists and falsified data in order to deny or overturn protections for endangered species. The scandal revolved around a deputy secretary of the interior, Julie MacDonald, whose job seemed to be to limit or eliminate protections for endangered species, all over the nation and the world.
