The lesions resembled human disease in distribution and microscopic appearance. Similar deposits were also induced in rabbits by homocysteine administration and by allergic injury. ... 

In Macaca irus monkeys exposed to berylhum oxide (3.30 to 4.38 mg Be/m ) three times, for 30 min each, at monthly intervals Conradi et al. (1971) after 2 years found histiocytes in the pulmonary interstitial space containing heterogeneous dark granular material and Upid droplets within membrane-bounded space.
