LSD dosages

LSD. In 1971, about 274,000 LSD dosage units were seized in 1972, 340,000 in 1973, 490,000. In the first four months of this year, already 364,000 units had been seized. It is estimated that only a fraction of the amount of LSD available is seized. Sixty-four sets of LSD punches are known to have produced LSD for the illicit market during 1973, by contrast with the previously recorded high of 27 sets of punches known to have been operative in 1971. [Pg.190]

LSD, relatively little systematic testing of performance over a range of LSD dosage and throughout the duration of its action had been reported. We therefore undertook studies that would reveal the dose-response relationship with more precision, initially by the oral route and later by intravenous or inhalation routes of administration. A total of approximately 100 subjects were tested between 1961 and 1966, at... [Pg.327]

The course of post-LSD pupillary changes, with respect to dosage schedule and intensity and duration of effects, is a valuable tool. Pupil size 3 hr after the initial dose responded to the second dose of LSD and was an obvious measure to track in acute tolerance studies in humans. Given the number of rat studies in which this would be useful to monitor, the problem lies in determining rat mydriasis (easy in other animals) while a computerized pupillometer (developed by Martin Adler at Temple University) was informally tried by us once with LSD, systematic studies have not been done. [Pg.113]

Within a few years of the discovery of the extraordinary potency of LSD, a large number of close analogues were synthesized by Hofmann and his allies at Sandoz. Over the following decade many were tested in humans, both in patients and healthy subjects, with the qualitative descriptions and dosages published in the medical literature. [Pg.147]

LAE-32, N-ethyllysergamide. Different people have observed and reported different effects, with different routes of administration. Subcutaneous administrations of from 500 to 750 micrograms have been said to produce a state of apathy and sedation. Clinical studies with dosages of 500 micrograms i.m. were felt to be less effective than the control use of 100 micrograms of LSD. And yet, oral doses of twice this amount, 1.6 milligrams, have been said to produce a short-lived LSD-like effect with none of these negatives. [Pg.152]

LPD-824, N-Pyrrolidyllysergamide. Five trials at a dosage of 800 micrograms orally led to the reporting of a fleeting effect that was similar to one tenth this amount of LSD. [Pg.152]

DAM-57, N,N-Dimethyllysergamide. This compound did induce autonomic disturbances at oral levels of some ten times the dosage required for LSD, presumably in the high hundreds of micrograms. There is some disagreement as to whether there were psychic changes observed. [Pg.152]

EXTENSIONS AND COMMENTARY That is the sum total of the knowledge of subjective effects that exist. There was such a precious small amount of the final hydrochloride salt that, by the time the needed build-up of dosage had been completed, there was just enough left for this single trial, which was conducted in South America. Based upon the volunteered comparisons to LSD and TMA, a potency for this compound has been published that states that it is 4x the potency of mescaline, or 4 M.U. The material must be re-synthesized, and re-evaluated with the now-accepted protocol. [Pg.210]

In Type B treatment, dosage levels can be varied to suit the occasion. Group process can be accelerated by the use of doses of LSD as low as 25-50 jug. The group size should be relatively small, with five members optimum. The therapist will probably not need any help during a session, and the introduction of a stranger will inhibit the group. [Pg.352]

Netz, B., and Engstam, P. O. Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD-25) and Suggestibility. Part 11 Effects of a Threshold Dosage of LSD-25 on Hypnotic Susceptibility. MPI B-rapport nr 17, dec 1968. Stockholm Militarpsykologiska Institutet, 1968. [Pg.494]

The time of onset, when the drugs are taken orally on an empty stomach, is approximately 20-30 minutes for LSD and psilocybin, and one to two hours for mescaline. The duration of the session is usually eight to ten hours for LSD and mescaline, and five to six hours for psilocybin. DMT (dimethyltryptamine), when injected intramuscularly in dosages of 50-60 mg, gives an experience approximately equivalent to 500 micrograms of LSD, but which lasts only 30 minutes. [Pg.44]

The usual dose of LSD is between one hundred and two hundred micrograms. Black-market LSD has been analyzed and many times there are impurities present. LSD users do not know how much LSD they are purchasing. We have found a wide range of doses that were many times much less—and, in a few instances, much greater—than the dosage that was thought to be purchased. You can put enough LSD in an eye dropper to "turn on," or provide an LSD experience, to 10,000 people. [Pg.13]
