The conventional way of getting a correct value of CS is a cumbersome task and it might also yield manual errors, as well, particularly if proper units of the variables are not input in Eq. 5.7. With this in view and for the precise and quick determination of CS, as listed in Table 5.32, look up chart has been developed, as depicted in Fig. 5.8. Each chart exhibits a regular trend of variation between the CS and d-spacing (corresponding to the 20°) of various minerals present in the samples, for different (ranging from 0.0502 to 1.0706 in 20° unit) values. Thus getting the value of CS from Fig. 5.8 looks very simple, except for an interpolation in case of an intermediate value of P, between adjacent plots.

The fluid properties of formation water may be looked up on correlation charts, as may most of the properties of oil and gas so far discussed. Many of these correlations are also available as computer programmes. It is always worth checking the range of applicability of the correlations, which are often based on empirical measurements and are grouped into fluid types (e.g. California light gases).

Be careful when looking up a p/fa to determine a because the wrong pATa values will lead to an incorrect decision based on poor data. It is an unfortunate reality that many compounds can serve as either an acid or a base. A very common example is water. Water can act as a base to form hydronium or can act as an acid to form hydroxide. Since this book s pA a chart lists both the acid and its conjugate base, water is on the pATa chart twice, once as an acid (15.7) and once as a conjugate base for hydronium (-1.7). 

If the pressure is other than 1 atm, the temperature can be read from the steam tables. Given this boiling point for pure water, we can look up the boiling point of solutions of NaOH from a Duhring chart (see p500 of Geonkoplis) ... 

It would take pages to explain it all, but there are some key diseases and disorders which plague not only alcoholics, but just plain over-users. After you ve looked up your planetary placements, you may find yourself suffering from information overload. Never fear — Chapter 14 shows you how to winnow that data down to its most essential components by looking for patterns that characterize your chart as a whole. 

Putting together a basic birth chart involves these steps Looking up the planets, figuring out your Ascendant, making the wheel of the horoscope, and placing the planets on the wheel. After that, you re ready for the true art of astrology interpretation. 

To illustrate the process, let s go back to Nicole Kidman, who was born on June 20, 1967, at 3 15 p.m. in Honolulu. To make her birth chart, begin by looking up her planets in the Appendix. Here s what we find for that day ... 

To identify the transits in effect now, turn to the Appendix at the back of this book and look up the current position of the planets. The planetary tables in the Appendix tell you what sign each planet is in. Jot down the positions of the planets from Mars to Pluto. Then make a copy of your birth chart and position the transiting planets around it. As models, look at Figures 16-2 and 16-3, which present Anne Morrow Lindbergh s chart. In each case, the inner wheel represents the birth chart, and the outer wheel shows the location of the transiting planets. 

This, too, appears unusual since the prescriber has already made this determination. However, the nurse is responsible to independently verify that the dmg is proper for the patient. Printers can supply printed versions of look-up tables as charts that can be used to calibrate back across the design workflow, either by eye or by equipment and software—some also offer related software (Spoonflower Inc., 2011). No matter what descriptive term is used, the charts are usually grids, with each square containing incrementally altering blends of colors. Some printers add in light versions of the standard CMYK inks to increase the range of producible colors. More primaries. 

Another way to look at Chart 9.1 is to observe that if we cut NVA time from 90 to 80 percent and we maintain VA time at 10 percent, then we end up gaining 10 percent of unused capacity. We now do the same amount of work in 90 percent of the time that it took us before. And we can use the newly gained capacity for other productive functions. 

Look up, on a vapor pressure chart, the vapor pressure of the liquid pumped, at the measured pump suction temperature, in psia. 

A more classical definition of the vertical axis of this chart can be found in either Mass Transfer Operations by R. E. Treybal or Separation Processes by C. J. King, - but be warned, neither of these books is for the faint of heart, especially in the sections where absorption or stripping are concerned. So if you choose to look up these references, please don t get despondent as some of the verbiage (or in places, lack of verbiage) would break the heart of the most aspiring and ardent student.
