Logistic function, definition

The third phase of the procedure model regards the derivation and definition of concrete ICT-based measures to implement the logistic levers and support potentials identified before. For the development of the to-be concept for the tailored improvement of the supply and production network, the procedure model provides a comprehensive and well-tested guideline to define shape, functions and services of the electronic process support according to the demands emanating from the process environment (see Hausen, 2005). As a consequence, tailored and customized improvement in line with demands emanating from the value network, product and processes characteristics through functionalities of electronic support and automation such as transaction facilities can be realized. 

The subject for observation and reflection are the actions—operating processes occurring inside the elements of the logistics system which are in the logistics and distributions companies. To the research adopted the concept of system in which it is treated as the internally correlated arrangement of the elements, which have a specific structure of the actions, a collection of methods of operation and rules of the organization, which fulfill a specific function and which are isolated from the environment for a specific purpose (Nowakowski 2011). As well to the research was adopted the main standard for company s services according to Mr. Christopher s definition— the main standard of service, what should be pursued in the company, is one hundred percent compliance with customer expectations. 

Leaving any further discussion of the relationship between service and product until the next subsection, let us proceed with the application of the system concept to products. There are several ways to view a product of which the most common are in terms of what it is, what it can do (i.e. its functionality), how it can be used within a given context (operational capability), and how it needs to be maintained (logistic support). Each one of these can be complex and is therefore a candidate for a description as a system, and each such description is called a view.
