Local education agency

The Act defines a local educational agency as (A) any LEA as defined in 5 14101 of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965, (B) the owner of any private, nonprofit elementary or secondary school building, and (C) the governing authority of any school operated under the defense dependents education system. 15 U.S.C. 2641(7). [Pg.583]

The local educational agency shall complete an inspection statement, covering activities carried out before October 22, 1986, which meets the following requirements ... [Pg.914]

A local educational agency may request a deferral, to May 9, 1989, of the deadline under subsection (a) of this section. Such a request may cover one or more schools under the authority of the agency and shall include a list of all the schools covered by the request.
