General Principles across All Life Cycle Stages... 

What-ll/Checklist combines the creative, brainstorming features of a What-lf with the systematic features of a Checklist. The What-lf analysis considers accidents beyond the checklist the check list lends a systematic structure to the What-lf analysis. A What-lf7Checklist examines the potential consequences of accident scenarios at a more general level than some of the more detailed I l liA methods. It can be used for any type of process at any life cycle stage.

In this study, LCA methodology of a full cradle-to-grave or business-to-consumer carbon footprint approach is used to draw the general map of energy consumption, and later any possible savings opportunities are analyzed and appropriate action plans are structured. In Table 2.5 life cycle stages that are included and also excluded in the conducted work are listed. 

The key element of life-cycle design is Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA). LCA is generally envisioned as a process to evaluate the environmental burdens associated with the cradle-to-grave life cycle of a produc t, process, or ac tivity. Applications for particular uses of very high concern substances will be assessed at EU level, on the basis of the risk assessment submitted by the applicant, that covers all stages of the life-cycle for that use.
