Leukotrienes regulation

The 11,12-oxido and 14,15-oxido analogs of leukotriene A4 were synthesized to help answer the question of whether these compounds might be biosynthesized from arachidonate by the 12- and 15-lipoxygenation pathways and serve as physiologic regulators. Hydrolysis products of the 14,15-oxide were later found to be formed in biological systems.

Although it appears that severe IL-4-regulated enteropathy is not required for immune expulsion of T. spiralis, it is still possible that Th2 cytokines can act in a direct fashion to create an environment unfavourable for intestinal parasites. Leukotriene. Biologically active compound functions as regulators of allergic and inflammatory reactions. They are identified by the letters A, B, C, D, and E, with subscripts indicating the number of double bonds in the molecule. 

Histamine is released from mast cells in antigen-antibody reactions, as in anaphylaxis and allergy, which are the most widely known physiological reactions to histamine. However, these potentially fatal reactions are not caused by histamine alone.
