Leucine kinetic parameters

The kinetic parameters of several leucine dehydrogenases show a similar pH-profile. The opposite tendency of Vmax and Km for all substrates is remarkable the dimethyl-substituted substrates show KM values above 10 mu (Vmax values are between 0.2 and 30% of the reactivity of 2-oxo-4-methyl-pentanoic acid, the base case), whereas ffM values below 1 mM are typical for good substrates (Vmax -100% compared with the base case, 2-oxo-4-methyl-pentanoic acid). [Pg.1053]

Mode of operation (fed)-batch versus continuous Parameters for decision kinetics, stability and form of the biocatalyst desired substrate conversion, product concentration (solubility) need of process control, inhibitory/toxic effect of substrate or product. Examples for fed-batch bioprocesses acrylamide process (Nitto Chemicals), L-carnitine process (Lonza). Examples for continuous operation.- production of L-tert. leucine and other amino acids (Degussa). [Pg.205]
