Legal issues international agreement

The most realistic assessment of the current situation is that the definition of any delimitation between air space and outer space will be required to be based on political agreement, not legal force. This situation exists because the definition is ultimately a political issue based around national integrity, rather than a legal distinction between the permitted uses of air space and outer space. Therefore, as there is no current political consensus on the issue, and because this lack of consensus has not yet led to international disputes and seems unlikely to do so in the near future, it is possible to argue that because no delimitation has yet been made, there is no current need to define one.
