Leaves plication

Leaves plicate in the bud ovary completely superior usually syncarpous. [Pg.29]

The evolution of dwarf males was significantly correlated with most of the morphological characters except seta length (Character 11), gemmae (13), endostome cilia (16), exostome development (17), and inner perichaetial leaf plication (18). In addition, there is no statistical support for correlated evolution of dwarf males with the epiphytic habit. The statistics of the correlation tests are presented in Table 18.4. [Pg.383]

Prefioration.—By prefloration is meant the arrangement of the floral envelopes in the bud. It is to the flower bud what vernation is to the leaf bud, the same descriptive terms being largely employed, as convolute, involute, revolute, plicate, imbricate, etc. [Pg.181]

Inner perichaetial leaf Not plicate Not plicate Mostly plicate... [Pg.234]
