As discussed above, the greatest source of error in NIR calibration is usually reference laboratory error, sample nonhomogeneity, and nonrepresentative sampling in the learning (training) set or calibration set population. Instrument quality and equation selection account for only a fraction of the variance or error attributable to NIR analytical technique in current routine application. 

It follows that the most important aspect to train an ANN is to determine how the weights are modified in an iterative, automatic process that is, the criterion to change the weights. How this is done determines the difierent learning (training) algorithms. Diverse learning methods exist [30,32] of which some typical examples are cited first, then we will concentrate on the most common one.

The neural network is capable of modeling non-linear systems. On the basis of supplied training data the neural network learns (trains) the relationship between the process input and output The data have to be examined carefully before they can be used as a training set for a neural network. The training sets consist of one or more input data and one or more output data. After the training of the network, a test-set of data should be used to verify whether the desired relationship was learned.

Supervisors are considered the primary safety trainers. All supervisors will complete train-the-trainer classes to learn training techniques and how to test employee knowledge and skilk. They will ako receive training on how to apply fair and consistent recognition and discipline. Supervisor training may be provided by the supervisors immediate manager, by the safety department, or by outside resources.
