Leader-participation model

In particular for complex work processes with many actors, it is helpful to create a first coarse-grained model with a manager and possibly the leaders of the involved groups. This model can be used to identify the required participants for the subsequent modeling sessions, which will focus on different parts of the process in order to create a more detailed model. The number of participants in the sessions should be limited (not more than 5-7 people) so that all of them can participate actively in the creation of the model. Finally, a schedule listing the participants and topics of each session should be created and distributed to ensure the availability of the involved persons. [Pg.435]

In the second level, the leaders actions are focused toward others in their organization. The leader developed skills and knowledge in the first level, now his or her efforts are directed toward benefitting others in their quality of life and well-being. They become role models to others. They help the team reflect before taking an action and encourage them to keep developing themselves. In this level, there is collaboration between the participants and the leader (Kemavuthanon and Duberley 2009). [Pg.97]

Some people want to change but need direction and support. They are motivated to participate but need models or leaders. At the dance, these were the kids who himg back at first. With a little encouragement, they danced a few numbers. By the end of the evening, you could not get them off the dance floor. They were now totally involved. [Pg.464]
