Laser Structuring with Coatings and Lubricants

COMBINATION OF LASER STRUCTURING WITH COATINGS AND LUBRICANTS [Pg.104]

Stable superhydrophobic surfaces obtained after applying the listed coatings onto different metals and semiconductors are presented in the references given in Table 4. [Pg.105]

An alternative method that can be used for the fabrication of stable water-repellent surfaces on metals is to infuse the surface structures with lubricants. Wong et al. (2011) reported the fabrication of slippery lubricant infused structured surfaces based on the following criteria  [Pg.105]

The lubricating liquid must wick into wet and stably adhere within the structured solid surface  [Pg.105]

The solid must be preferentially wetted by the lubricating liquid rather than by the liquid needing to be repelled and [Pg.105]
