Hence the 300 mm (12 in.) wall designed against the same blast load in both codes (British and US) is safe. The roof slab can be checked in the same way as for the gas explosion, described earlier in the text. 

Where lacing bars are needed, the following calculations will help in the design of nuclear shelters. The lacings can be in both the vertical and horizontal directions. 

L is measured along the centre line of the lacing bar between points a and b.

New Hampshire x Barred Rock. This cross is from two of the oldest heritage breeds and produces a very hardy chick. The birds are reported to be very quiet, with an attractive plumage. The hens have a red comb and a jet-black body laced with brown on the neck and breast. They lay brown-shelled eggs and reach about 2.75 kg at the end of lay. Males have dark-coloured bars. 

According to Kaye 5l currently much in use arc laced concrete walls (Fig. 131) forming a shock wave barrier, but more modern designs are those of suppressive structures. They are made of new suppressive structures of several layers of louvered and perforated plates of angle iron and z bars. This allows controlled release of blast effects from a detonation within the structure. Subsequently a controlled release of blast effects occurs. 

Raschel Warp knit raschel fabrics are produced in a similar way as tricot fabrics except for their stitch motions. The motion results in elastic yams being put into raschel construction as lay-in-yams versus knit-in yams on tricot constractions as shown in Figure 3.7. This lay-in stmcture leads to the raschel fabrics with elastic stretch in the length direction. Other elastic bar movements are possible to increase stretch and modulus in width. Raschel machines can have up to 64 yam guide bars to produce fabric patterns as extensive as jacquard lace. Elastomeric fabrics made by raschel showed good elastic stretch, recovery, and modulus in both length and width directions as elastic yam lap increases. 

Nutrified cakes, cookies, and food bars—The new term nutrification, which is derived from the words nutrient and fortification, was coined by food scientists to denote the providing of nutrients through fabricated, fortified foods such as snack cakes, cookies, food bars, and chips laced with minerals, vitamins, and amino acids. However, some of these products are too high in fats and/or sugars to be used by sedentary adults, who might easily eat too much of these concentrated sources of calories.
