Label Improvement Program

In view of this, and in view of the fact that many pesticide labels have not been reviewed at all since 1972, or earlier, EPA has established the Label Improvement Program as a means to bringing old or obsolete labels up-to-date, to delete incorrect recommendations, and to provide expanded information, in certain areas that are especially important to the protection of public health and the environment. [Pg.298]

Whereas cases such as these are obviously beyond the control of any government entity, educational programs to increase public awareness and improved quality assurance requirements for commercial products may prevent intoxications caused by misidentification. Manufacturers are responsible for assuring that the contents of a package or bottle are accurately represented on the label. Failure to meet this standard causes the product to be adulterated and/or, misbranded and subject to enforcement action by the FDA.
