The extraction of Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Cd(II), Zn(II), Pb(II), and Mn(II) with K(Bp) in dichloromethane has been studied by Shukla and Rao237 and the extraction constants compared with those obtained with dibenzoylmethane, thenoyltrifluoroacetone, and l-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-5-pyrazolone.

Extensive investigations by Chmutova and co-workers of l-phenyl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-5-pyrazolone (PMBP) indicate that the synergistic enhancement for TBP and TOPO adducts (in benzene) of the trivalent actinides (extracted from nitric acid) increases in the order Am < Cm < Bk < Cf (Chmutova et al. 1973). On the other hand. 

The analysis of the extraction by CPo21 data reveals a 1 1 metal ion-to-ligand ratio for europium and thorium. The selectivity factors indicate a good selectivity toward these two cations with respect to Mn2+, Pb2, Cd2+, Fe2+, Ni2+, and Co2+, among which only cadmium is a weakly radioactive fission product.155 A synergistic extraction of almost three orders of magnitude was evidenced for the extraction of La3+, Nd3+, Eu3+, Ho3+, Lu3+ with 4-benzoyl-3-methyl-l-phenyl-5-pyrazolone and CPo21 however, it does not improve the separation factors between lanthanides.156... 

After complexation with 4-benzoyl-3-methyl-l-phenyl-5-pyrazolone the copper is extracted from sea water into methyl isobutyl ketone. 200 ml of sea water are extracted at pH with a solution of 10 ml of 0.2 wt/v % complexing agent in methyl isobutyl ketone 83>. 

Molybdenum(VI) in sea water is complexed with 4-benzoyl-3-methyl-l-phenyl-5-pyrazolone (BMPP) and extracted into isoamyl alcohol.
