The other new member of the Carey team is Professor Neil Allison, University of Arkansas, who is the author of the Student Solutions Manual. I wish to thank Neil and his predecessor, Professor Robert Atkins, James Madison University, for their work on this excellent resource. [Pg.1331]

In the meantime, however. Dr. Douglas Dennis, an associate professor in the Biology Department of James Madison University, has cloned into a recombinant E. coli bacterium the genes that catalyze PHB formation in Alcaligenes. It appears that the new system produces polymer at the rate of 2.7 g/L-hr. He has offered to provide an exclusive license to Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) and will consult on a plant based on the recombinant organism. [Pg.910]
